Why Use AD&D Toolkit?
AD&D Toolkit is a mobile optimized, digital Character Sheet for players that integrates with a variety of tools(modules) for Dungeon Masters. The DM modules speed up and simplify the more mundane tasks of adventuring and handling a campaign. There are some homebrew additions but we largely adhere to the AD&D 1e (First Edition) ruleset. You can create characters and have all of their stats saved in our database. This allows you to display any character sheet at any time for easy reference. Your DM will also have access to your Character. Much of the data is automatically adjusted by the system to mitigate the need for constantly referencing charts and matrices. DMs can create Campaigns and connect with their player Character Sheets for integration of the entire party's statistics to be managed during gameplay.
AD&D Toolkit Key Features
The image rendered here illustrates the power of AD&D Toolkit. The system auto calculates dozens of crucial values for your reference. This saves hordes of playtime otherwise spent flipping through guides and charts including;
- Each of your characters can be assigned to a DM's Campaign. This allows your DM access to Character Sheet data for each party member.
- Easily managed and highly editable personal inventory items include weight and price values. This allows for automatic calculations of encumbrance, movement, and vendor resale;
- Complex matrices for ToHit rolls, Saving Throws, Spells per Level, Thief Skills, Assassination Tables, customized to your character are all interconnected with Class, Level, Ability Bonuses, etc so you don't have to do the calculations for each engagement;
- Time tracking in days across an entire Campaign that is managed by the DM and shared on each Character Sheet;
- Calculating Surprise in each encounter;
- Calculating outdoor Pursuit Evasion;
- Randomized weather that factors in terrain, climate, and season;
- Bonuses and penalties color-coded for easy recognition throughout;
- Generalizing and calculating protocols for esoteric systems like Custom Spell research;
- Automating impactful but tedious systems like character disease contraction and monthly expense calculations;
- DM image sharing directly to Character Sheets provides visual enhancements to gameplay;
- A custom, built-in Sound Effects board for spells, melee combat, monsters, and more!
Dungeon Master Modules in AD&D Toolkit
There are a number of DM tools, or modules, built into AD&D Toolkit which perform functions that make gameplay smoother and easier. Many adventure related values such as Character Encumbrance, consequent Movement rate, and Surprise bonuses/penalties are automatically imported into a number of modular DM tools. For instance, a comprehensive Encounter Surprise module automatically imports Race and Class bonuses from Character Sheets.
